Shabby
by Laura Pena

I pull on my faded
and worn clothes
then hide from mirrors
the rest of the day

I know surface beautiful
can’t be dressed each day
but shabby is an easy
dangerous habit

slipping over my
shoulders like a shroud
my body can wear anything
sometimes it feels shame when it does
